pyro baby King Snake

eddiemnoian Sep 23, 2007 05:51 AM

I have a baby pyro king snake. When i first brought him home he was pretty mellow and i could pick him up pretty easily, and than after a few days he got super aggresive. I've only had him a week. I have a bottom heater and a florescent light. I thought he might be hungry so i gave him a pinky mouse and its been in his cage the whole day and he wont eat it. Do you think i should get a cerramic heater to warm it up? He's in a 20 gallon tank, is that to small? Or is this normal and he'll eventually eat and calm down?

Get rid of the UV light - it isn't needed and may stress him.
Regulate the temperature of the UTH - it could be too hot.

Go to walmart or equivalent and get one of their cheap digital thermometers that has a lead (IE outdoor thermometer). The lead should be put into the substrate where the UTH is.

Make sure he has a good hide. they like to be able to wedge themselves in their hide.
