other than neighbor hood cats i would say that they don't. not that ive noticed

Rats will attract fleas and mites that will feast on your rats.

No more than any other animal. I think the problem is with waste disposal and having open food bins. Then, yes, other rodents and bugs are gonna love you. If the area is clean and not a free food bin then I don't think the simple presence of breeding rats is gonna attract anything.

Rats and mice will come to the smell of other rats and mice to investigate competitors or companions. This is especially true of mice.

I have gone to great lengths to make my garage a good place for rats and mice to live. I keep the temperature just right, and I have hundreds of pounds of feed. If there is a wild mouse or rat anywhere near my garage, he wants to be in my garage. Especially when he can smell all those cute girls in there.

I have on 4 occasions had gopher snakes come into my garage that I have caught. I am sure they could pick up the scent of mice.

I tried keeping rats outdoors one summer a few years ago and it was a fiasco.The wild rats climbed up under the cages and started eating the legs and tails off the babies.It was pretty bad.They nibbled the adults tails too.
Inside Ive had no problems but Im sure if I didnt keep things clean it would have flies or other pests.
