Tom..........I'm not familiar with these "pastel blacks". How about some pics.........You certainly seem to have every shade of pit out there......lol!

Yeah, I know what you mean, but I guess it's sort of like an anery corn - seems like it defeats the purpose since the oranges and reds are kind of what attract people to corns, but they are still neat and pretty in their own right. We are curious if we can get "hybino" Northerns like with Sonorans and Bulls and how different they might look. Seems like they would just be more pallid amels, but the blotched might be pretty colorful. Hopefully, we will find out in a few years...

with all due respect those look like regular northerns to me.....especially considering the ontogenetic changes they undergo, how can you be sure their blotches won't just darken with age?i've found northerns to be quite unpredictable re:their pattern/coloration changes from juvenile to adulthood.

If you saw them in person, I believe you would think otherwise - they look totally different from the others in the clutch or any others we've ever hatched, for that matter. I did put "hypo" in quotes because these are the first time we've hatched anything like this so we're not quite sure what it is, but they look every bit as hypo as the hypo Sonorans and Bulls that are out there.
