i got an envelope to today from the fort Wayne humane society!!!

there was nothing in the envelope though.

my mom will call tomarrow to find out what it was suppossed to be. Im 15 (almost 16) why would they send me mail?.....i would like to know what you guys/gals think it will be about??? the only way they can get my name is from the zoo or from the new paper(had a jacksons in an artical about my in karate)

im worried thinking they are gunna take animals!!!!
then i started thinking WHAT IF i get to foster chameleons???!!!!

Do you know what the laws in your state are for keeping herps?

Could it have just been a regular mailing looking for donations? They may well have gotten your name from one of those sources.

As for taking your herps I wouldn't worry. They only way they can get involved is if someone complained about the care you are giving them

Just to be on the safe side though - do you know what the laws in your state are regarding herps? Some states ban the owning of certain reptiles, etc.

I have been trying to keep a low profile on my herps..
The city has an ordinance that disallows exotic pets. Because a few years ago, a guy fed his girlfriends cat to his 4' american alligator. (I think they were feuding)

But anyway, last week, I wasn't home to get the FedEx shipment, and they let a neighbor sign for my crix..

I thought about asking the neighbor if she would like to come over for cricket ravioli..but I didn't.

Oh well, they could be on to me..

why would they ask a 15 year old for donations??

TRUST ME... they would ask ANYONE for donations.

They may have gotten a list of enthusiasts, not knowing the age of anyone on that list.

They don't know the ages of anyone, they get their lists from many different sources. The fact that the envelope was empty makes me think it is donation request b/c sometimes if they don't seal the envelope they can save on postage. It'll be interesting to see...
