Sable and Indigo (DUW)

waspinator421 Sep 23, 2007 06:41 PM

Finally got some new pictures of Sable and Indigo today. I tried to get pictures of them both in the sun and the shade.

First up is Sable, a High Orange female. The pictures of her in the shade did not show her color well at all.

And here is Indigo, a dark reddish male. He was not cooperating at all, so his pictures didn't turn out the greatest. I would say that his color is best represented by the shade shots.

I plan on breeding Sable with Flax, and Vermillion with Indigo next season. Hopefully they will reward me with some little slimeballs!

Great looking snakes you have there. I know the feeling about them not wanting to cooperate, I tried to take pictures of my CRB tonight as she just shed yesterday but she just wouldn't have it.

Thank you,

Tim

Aubrey,
..Yes, that is a CH47D. The PIC was taken in Honduras around the time I was there in 1989. I spent 6 years flying Hueys and Kiowas and got into Chinooks in 1979 and flew them until I retired in 1993.

Awesome!! Someday I would love to learn to fly helicopters. Training is about 3 times more expensive than plane training though.... yech! So for now I'll just enjoy them here... we had a Eurocopter come in a couple hours ago. I love marshalling copters in.... gotta be careful fueling them though or you might get a bath. Did the Chinooks ever spit while fueling them... or did you have 'people' for that?

Jeff Clark Sep 24, 2007 03:25 AM

Aubrey,
....I have refueled a bunch of helicoptors. Earlier Chinooks had a seperate fuel cap for each of the six fuel tanks. When I was in Korea my second time in Special Ops C Model Chinooks we flew a mission called the fatcow with 4 500 gallon fuel tanks strapped to the floor. We could use all that fuel ourselves or set up rapid hot refueling points for other helicoptors. D Model Chinooks have closed circuit refueling systems which sometimes did not work well with commercial nozzles. The contract fuel price would fluctuate a lot but most of the time the FBOs were real happy to see us.

Aubrey,
...I never got a Chinook completely inverted. The rest of that stuff is pretty simple to do. During typical Chinook flights the flight engineer and crew chief are walking around the back of the aircraft wearing monkey harnesses. You have to get them into seats and strapped in tight before doing extreme maneuvers.

Actually I have no idea, our front desk takes care of that sort of stuff. I think, though, that the airlines buy their own fuel and we just store it for them and fuel their planes with it. Not sure how much they are paying. Sorry I didn't have the answer for ya! The only price I know of is what we charge for general aviation: Jet-A is $4.17/gallon right now (with prist), $4.14 without prist. That, of course, changes every day... just like good little gas prices should, lol.

You only get to fly if I'm in the pilot seat, and when I'm off the clock..lol.... but I wouldn't want to take you right now... eeeewww... would have to saran wrap everything in the plane as a precaution. lol!

Yeah... the bill is just under $1,000... wish I had that kind of money to throw at gas!

You hit it right on the head, Jeff. There is SOOO much variety in the Thayeri realm, even in the same clutch of eggs. It's just too much fun!

What I find very interesting is that there is no "pure blood" Thayeri that has a genetic morph. It seems like almost all snakes nowadays at least has an albino morph, but not these guys! I think some people claim to have albino Thayeri, but from everything I have heard, those specimens have Ruthveni blood in them.

Oh sheesh... now here I go blabbing on about Thayeri... shutting up!
