I was just wondering if there was a way to tell the sex of a corn snake, besides popping and probing. I'm not experieced at either on and I don't want to hurt the snake. Is there any physical features that you could tell by.

I have been 100% successful thus far by measuring the tail. Its a bit harder when they are very young but generally males have longer tails when measuring from vent to tip of tail. This however would be difficult to determine unless you had 2 snakes of opposite sex to compare tails.

There are no other physical features with which to sex a corn snake. With baby snakes, popping and/or probing are the only reliable way to tell the snake's sex. If you have reptile shows in your area, chances are someone there can help you. The same is true if you have a herp society or breeder in your town.

Cool snake. Thanks for the advice. I'll probably find someone that knows how to pop them.I definately don't want to hurt my snake.
I thought that females tended to narrow very quickly at the tail, giving them "hips". No?
