Tina update

norristhenut Sep 24, 2007 06:56 PM

It's been a week since Tina has been to the Vet for swollen eyes.
Tinas just been opening his eyes the last few days and has been kept at 80 degree plus all week. Toady here in Northeast Ohio the temperature hit 80 so I though I'd take him out for some fresh air. He didn't open his eyes till after he had been outside for a few minutes. In the first photo you can see the bags under his eyes are kind of white looking thats kind of a deflated bag as all week it was full of white puss. Every day he soaked in a tub of warm water and puss came out in hugh drops. This was the first day his eyes look pretty clear. In the other photo you can see his eyes close up and although they look clear, he still can't see very well and he hasn't eaten all week.
The Vet said reptiles take a long time to recover. Another bright spot is he still has his strength. Will update later.

Thanks norristhenut aka alan

Good luck with Tina! I am getting my BT named Laura back on Sunday after two years of "foster care" while I was living in student housing--I have had her since 1996 and she is a mature female, last laid eggs in 2000. I am glad to get her back though because while her care these two years has been okay, it hasn't been nearly as specialized as it will be with me.

How's Tina doing these days? Better I hope. This is a common eye aliment and should recover nicely if you keep on top of it and keep him warm Good luck!
