Nate,

Long time no talk. Hope things are going well.

As you probably already know, this group of snakes has received some recent discussion on the Indigo forum. Dig through a couple of the Ptyas threads if you have not already. I have not checked over there since last week. Someone had posted specifically on Z. dhumnades.

I'm interested to hear more as well. I have had an interest in this species for a long time. Tempting to pick up a few just for the heck of it.

I found a pic of an adult on a chinese website pretty good looking snakes but look like a handfull. From the little I've found they die or need frogs to strive sounds like something to leave to one of the Bills lol

What have they eaten exactly?

Glad to hear you're working with these.

What I can tell you is this most have voluntarily eaten mouse parts but the snakes need a flee response to kick them into gear. Smell means little to them as neonates, if something tries to escape they are on it. They are 100% racer and I know racers. They process food in 12 to 24 hours at 86F and they have the metabolism from He!! And I am half way to switching them to mice and I have only had them less than a week……..Bill If you E-mail me I can give more detail……Bill

I'd like to hear about some of the methods or am I not privaledged enough?

Sighthunter Sep 26, 2007 05:22 AM

It has to do with sharing a technique that PETA would not like. You will be privelaged if you send me an E-mail.

I doubt that I'll be picking up any of these no matter how tempting it is. But if I do I'll send you an email. Please keep us posted here or on the Indigo forum.

They all took a second meal yesterday within an hour of feeding. I have 16 of 22 eating pink mouse parts.

Well according to PETA we should not "own" any animals anyway.....
