i am thinking about getting back into monitors. i havent had one in 8 years. the last one i had was a 4 ft asain water monitor (sold it to a friend when i finished college).i really like the black and yellow ornate niles. i have also seen one in a monitor book called a burundi nile. to me they look like the same animal. i dont like savanahs, black or peach throats. what monitor would you the public recomend. i would like to get one that will attain a nice size and will be handleable. thanks for any input.

Burundi=Ornate. You're right. they are the same just a different common name.

Blackthroats, whitethroats, savannahs, and waters have the best rep for handling. They all get big too (except the sav).
Niles have a bad rep for being hard to handle and tame. This doesnt leave you with much that I know of.
