Well, at this point im working with Bumblebees. I have a male Pastel and female Spider. Does anyone think its smart to get an 06 female Pastel and breed it to my Pastel in a year? Or should I just wait for this pair? And would it be to hard on a female to breed at one year?

I wouldnt do it. I dont think females are even mature enough at that age. I could be wrong though.

you will be able to find an 06 female that is at breeding weight and even then I don't think she would be mature. Plus, if you were to find one that big, she would be really expensive. You're talkin' at least a grand or more for one that big. I'd just wait it out and make your bumblebees when your pair is ready.

I'm hoping to do the same thing. I just bought an early 06 pastel girl that weighs over 750g. If I can get her switched over to F/T, she should continue gaining and be ready for next season.

How much did you get her for?

But it caaaaan happen. My '05 female pastel was 1600 grams last year- she just never turns down a meal. She was bred to a spider and a pastel male- I got a super pastel male and a bumblebee male from that clutch- amazing! And she is putting on weight like crazy- but she is FAR from the standard- I have 04's that have not yet hit 1000 grams

Every one is different!

Damn, if my female packed the pounds like that I'd want to keep her in my gene pool for sure.
