Wow a little miffed isint it.
i know this may sound very noobish but are they poisonis?
People have different reactions to them. I believe it depends on the persons sensitivity. If you let them chew on you a while (as someone has) you will most likely get a reation. I would not hesitate to let my kids hold them though.

i saw the page on the guy who let one chem on him just now, all i can say is wow not very smart. i still would rather not own something even super semi hot. are there any snakes that have this kind of (western) skin pattern and are not poisonis?
I would not consider them even semi hot. It really is a matter of a persons sensitivity. I am a very sensitive person (lots of allergies) I react to corn snake bites with blisters and itching. Most have zero reaction to them. Every individual is just different.

I would not consider them venomous either. They are only mildly so to small amphibians and reptiles, if you want to consider them as such.
The reaction that some people have is not to a venom, but most likely to the saliva of the hognose. I have not heard of anyone being bitten that didn't smell like food. I have hissers and head-butters as well. And never once have they struck at me with an open mouth.
Western hognose were my first snake, and I love them to death! They are very easy to care for, making them a good choice for a first-time snake owner.

very cool video i have a few hissers myself gotta love the tude that might help someone prepare for married life lol
I would have to agree with whats been said already. Hognose are in my opinion the least dangerous to keep. I have 2 6yr olds and a 7 yr old that will tote them around the house all day, and they are the ONLY snakes in my collection that my wife will actually take out and hold.
