new baby pic

She's just a normal, but ain't she pretty?

I volunteered to help out at the WNY Herpetological Society show and sale last Sunday, so got to stare at a lot of cool snakes and other reptiles all day.

I couldn't help but go home with one (though I wanted more, of course). This little girl jumped out at me as the lightest normal baby BP at the whole show. She's a CB '07 from a local breeder.

Can't tell from the photo, but she's got a nice long light yellow stripe on her tail, and very thin dark bands down her tail as well. Her eyes are light and look almost green to me.

I just need to pick out a name for her - she'll be a mate for my first-ever snake Ermy when she's old enough. I want to figure out a military or war name for her, since Ermy is named after R. Lee Ermey (what can I say, I was watching Mail Call a lot when I got Ermy as a baby). Any ideas?

Here she is. So cute! She's only my second ball python, since I have mostly boas now. Ermy is still my favorite snake, though this new girl sure is cute....

Very pretty baby. Good luck with her.

Cute! Do you want a unit name or a historical military figure's name?

I was thinking Cav, for the 1st Cavalry Division...but I'm biased. My husband's with the Cav's 2nd BCT...they're called the Black Jack Brigade. What about Black Jack?

Either way, congrats on the new baby!

Very nice. I still get alot of pleasure with normal ball pythons...they have such variety in color and pattern, you never see two alike.

As for a good military name for her...can't really help you there sorry.
