Yearling Pueblan musks!!!!

wvherp Sep 26, 2007 07:22 PM

I have an 06 Campbelli that is over 20 inches long. I have had him since last October when he was a hatchling and held him as often as possible. He was always squirmy, then started to musk every 3-4 holds. He still musks, and as he is getting quite large, the amount of goo he spews is also becoming larger. Will he ever stop!!!! I just got a female 07 and she is squirmy as well. Is it the species?? Will it get better?

It might get better, might not.
All specimens are different.
They are not the species you want if you want to handle them...
My adults got better when they got size on them. Male never musked, female usually just struggled from left to right until I put her down.

Been working with this species for over 25 years and have yet to find one with a "corn snake" personality, but then I rarely handle any of my snakes except for housekeeping or feeding in a separate box.
