Off feed...

z3speed4me Sep 27, 2007 12:28 AM

Hey guys /gals...

One of my gtp's has been off feed for over a month and a half now...ive tried live, fully thawed, stunned.... its about a 18months old, is this normal? Or should I start to worry, I am scared he / she is starting to thin out a little bit, nothing drastic, but definately has lost a little bit...

Is this the normal type of year for this to happen or should I try to force him?

ill post a pic tommorrow as reference to the snake's size...

It isn't unusual for a male chondro that age to go off food. It may take a few months for him to go back on food. I would try to feed as usual each week and be patient. Most of the time they go back on food when they're ready.

Not sure about normal, but most of mine would go off feed for about 3-5 months per year. I do have one male that only feeds 3 months of the year though. Eats like a pig and stops. Been doing this for 5 years. He's the only one.
