Breeding Question

Bakeaway Sep 27, 2007 10:35 AM

My female eastern king has been laying "slugs" for the past 2 years, she is 6 years old. So I have decided to try and breed her this year. I am not havibg that much luck with finding an eatern male so I was wanting to know can another king be used,,such as a Cal,Florida, etc? And she is a big pet, will he disposition change after she become a breeder?

Thanks

Her disposition shouldn't really change. She may be grumpy during the final days before egg laying but nothing permanent. As for cross breeding, I have never bred kings, but it seems to me that a 3' california would be a nice meal for a 6' eastern...... Not to say that it couldn't be done though.

I figured during the egg laying process she would be grumpy. But I would not bother her til she was done a few days. If I do not find another male of the same size, then I will not chance it.Thanks.
