Hi Shannon,
Yes, I did research the lineage as maintaining pure lines is very important to me. Scott produced the parents of that baby which were clutch mates. He shared pictures of the grandparents as well as all the lineage info and who he bought them from. He was 100% sure that the grandmother was pure thayeri and came from old-school lines originating from Vivid and either Applegate or Jim Kane. The grandfather, who is grey with a reduced bow-tie pattern, he got at a KC show. He wasn't sure about the name of the person he got him from but Scott was confident that he was pure thayeri, as well. The dealer was known to be reputable by Don Soderberg and Wes Greene, who were also at the show and examined the male thayeri and thought it was pure. Wes told Scott that some of the first Thayeri he'd seen had bowties, but they had been bred out in favor of the orange color.
I, in fact, have a couple reduced pattern bow-ties that are pure Vivid-lines. Other older lines, as Chris Baubel's animals demonstrate, have the tendency for the double spotted trait especially at the neck region (look at the orange female I posted).
Thanks for your comment.
