G. W. Bailey. He plays Det. Lt. Provenza on the TNT TV show "The Closer" with Kyra Sedgwick.
Came across as a really nice guy. I saw him and thought that he looked familiar. After talking to him for a minute or two, I came right out and asked him if he was an actor. He said yes, introduced himself to me and said that he is on the show the closer. I talked to him for probably about 2 hours total off and on for the day and a half trip from NY to New Orleans on Amtraks train the Crescent. I work on that train in the sleeper cars: basically a "hotel on wheels".
He was inroute to New Orleans for a "Sunshine Kids Foundation" event. It is a foundation that plans trips for kids that have cancer. He has been involved with this foundation for many years.
I really enjoyed meeting him and talking to him. Yes, I asked questions about his work as an actor and such, but we also talked about many other things. The foundation he works with, books he reads, restaurants, trains (he likes 'em) and other things.

While at work, I have also met one of my favorite authors, David Baldacci and a guy that was baseball pitcher for the NY Yankees. I can see his face, but can't think of his name. He pitched around the time when Catfish Hunter was catching. Anyway, David Baldacci was ok. He Talked to me for a few minutes. The pitcher ( I wish I could remember his name!!!!!) is super nice. Down to earth, just like anyone you might meet anywhere. If I didn't know who he was, I wouldn't have known that he was famous.
Anyway,G W Bailey was cool to talk to too.
