Repcal, oyster shell calcium

sned25271 Sep 28, 2007 01:28 PM

I was recently researching oyster shell calcium and found out it can contain harmful metals such as mercury. Today, I was reading the label on my Repcal calcium and it says they use oyster shell calcium as their source. Any opinions on this? Is there another brand that doesn't use oyster shell?

I also use Repcal and would be interested in other's opinion on the subject... I have read Repcal gets their oysters from a safe source. I also use mined Calcium carbonate and am thinking about using Calcium supplement tablets from the chemist (Calcium with no Phosphorous)
