Help!!! What is this???

boachris Sep 28, 2007 10:52 PM

Hey all,
I've been reading posts for a long time, but now I have my first question. After holding Dizzy, my 6' girl, I found this goo on my arm. It is the consistancy of thick snot (sorry so graphic) and then I found another little bit hanging out of her vent. Can someone tell me what this stuff is?

Thanks again! Chris

Yep...it's boy goo. I just got confirmation from my big boys this month that they are in fact boys. You know, my corn snake gooed on my 11yo dd who was NOT thrilled. What is up with these guys lately? My burm is very active during the day as well. They are all stirred up for some reason. We have had some tropical weather...high humidity (even with the A/C), cooler temps so the A/C hasn't been running, and low pressure. Maybe that has them all a flitter.

When we get these storms coming in the barometric pressure drops causing them to get all.......well.........." excited " I notice it in my chondros also.......every tim there is a storm...they lock up and breed for hours on end........

Gotta love it!

Yes, I had heard about drops in the barometric pressure, but I thought September was a bit late in the breeding season. Then again, I'm a lizard breeder and not much up on breeding snakes. I did breed a clutch of corns for fun this year, though.
