A driveway find

Guttersnacks Sep 29, 2007 09:27 AM

My house seems to be a magnet for rat and kingsnakes. I found this little guy on the little slab of concrete in front of my garage yesterday evening as I was on my way out for a late dinner. He was just chilling out with his body up against a seam in the concrete. I scooped him up because it's an irresistable urge to do so. I wont likely keep him though, maybe I'll toss a few pinks in him before I set him free.
I'm in S.E. Virginia. You can see how black this guy already is, and he's probably an 07 hatch as small as he is.

Enjoy!

Tom,

You have all the luck. Nice little snake. Letting him eat a few of your mice before you free him won't hurt him a bit.

If I could bottle that luck I'd sell it!!!

BTW, I didnt forget about the $25 I owe you. I'll swing by sometime soon and drop it off.

Hey Tom,

I am putting some animals up for sale this week, and I sold a bike, so let me know if you still want to deal with the pythons?

That's one of the darkest babies I've ever see - cool find!

What part of the country is that one from? It looks excited. Is that a field herping picture?

That one's from Hocking Hills in central Ohio. Yeah, he's one I found in the wild. He did his "defense thing" for the camera and then I let him be.

Beautiful black rat Tom. Then again, I'm used to you posting pics of Eastern Kings hanging out on your property. Very nice.

Didn't you once post a video of an eastern king that you found right on your door step? I ran across that video a couple nights ago on YouTube.

Sure did, thats me! "Turdburper" was the username. It started out as a joke. I tried to think of a really gross but funny sounding word. Then I started adding all this serious footage and sharing it around, so now I'm kind of stuck with it. Yea, my house attracts snakes, but only this year. The last few years it's been dry as a bone (figuratively speaking)
