Trying out different lighting options...

wetceal Sep 29, 2007 03:48 PM

It was a nice, somewhat overcast day today so I decided to try taking some photos outdoors, in the shade. I'm pretty happy with the way several of the pictures turned out and just wanted to share a few of them...

Sunglow

Hytec

Jungle Het. Squaretail (from Gray Rushin)

Hypo from the Aztec/Hytec litter

Let me know what you think...

Thanks,
Celia

great photography, I think those are wonderful outdoor shots as I could not even tell. Beautiful subjects as well!

They look great Celia! What type of set up are you using, (camera/lense)?

wetceal Sep 30, 2007 04:03 PM

Those photos were taken with my D200 with a Nikon Nikkor 60mm Macro lens. I also used a SB800 speedlight with a diffuser. It's the same setup I use for pretty much all my photos - indoors, outdoors, at shows, etc. I find it to be extremely flexible!

Thanks,
Celia

I think you still take the greatest snake pictures I have ever seen. And it doesn't hurt that you have such beautiful subjects either!

I use a Nikon D200. I used the D100 before that and several point and shoot Nikons before that. I really like the Nikon cameras.

Thanks for the compliments!

We actually do have another litter of Hypo BRB's due. Actually they are due ANY day now. The female is SO big and uncomfortable looking I feel bad for her! It's the same breeding and that girl has been such a great mom the last few times. Hopefully it'll be the same case this time around too!

Thanks,
Celia

Celia, The pictures look great, especially the Hytec. Wish you and Sean the best of luck. Take care. Andrew

Thanks Andrew! I can't believe how intense the coloration is on coming in on these guys. I can't wait to see them as adults!
