What kind of snake is this?

freakywoof Sep 29, 2007 06:48 PM

My name is Cassandra and I live in Gulfport, MS. I have found several of this type of snake in my flowerbeds around the shrubs on the mulch in the evening. They are about 1 ft long and as big around as a sharpie. I've sifted thru lots of pics online and cannot identify it. Any ideas?
Thank you!

yeah that particular snake is harmless. although its important to remember that one thing snakes hate, a lot, is dying so they might attempt to bite if harrassed.

Yes, it was a Water Snake.

Why on earth would you kill it?

What's with people, across the planet, that have to kill every damn thing around them, including themselves?? It's frightening how disconnected people have become from the nature around them. Hey, I don't know (or care) what species it is, it's TOAST now that I'VE come along.
