Sex of this Ackie?

Chance Sep 30, 2007 09:02 AM

I'm trying to determine the sex of this ackie and could use some assistance. Can anyone here get an idea based on these pictures?

Hey Chance!
While you're waiting for someone with experience (not me) you might want to check out these threads:

BTW, do you still have that prehistoric-looking bird called something like: "oseawaire"? ( I know that's not spelled right, or even pronounced right) If so, how's it doing?

Catch ya later!

Thanks for the leads. I'll give it a shot. As for the cassowary, unfortunately he passed away back in April. I believe he contracted a pathogen either from the female or from the other birds or animals at the farm where I took him to breed. Whatever it was didn't agree with him and laid him out flat within the span of a day. That was pretty devastating. I'm hoping to get some more cassowaries at some point...but they're so rare it's not terribly likely.

Sorry to hear about your cassowary, Chance. He sure was awesome lookin'. I can imagine that it would've been devastating, both emotionally & financially.

Hang in there, & best wishes with the ackies.

Later!
