what do YOU think this is.

Do you think it is a mix expressing amelanism
what possible mix do you see
Do you think it is a pure animal expressinag amelanism or albinism.
what possible pure species do you see?

when I get some good opinions I will tell you two things.
What I was told it is
and what I think it is.

maybe beteen your opinions and mine we can come up with valid arguments as to what it probably is.

not too many takers.

In '03 when he was sent to me he was sent as a "mean ass creamsicle"

I never really had any reason to doubt the fact that it wasn't pure corn. In person there is definitely a look that says mix. At least to me anyway.

It just always seemed to me to look more like the possibility or grey rat as opposed to emoryi.
Just speculation.

As far as breedings and labeling have been concerned I went with what I was told...creamsicle.

His ofsrping with cream females have always been nice orange creams with a slight touch of frosting.

To me the "frosting" and the saddle shape just seemed "greyish"

I asked Don S. the same question after I posted here and he didn't really see the grey rat markers I was seeing but he did see typical creamsicle.

That's good enough for me.

just wondering if anyone else saw what I did.

GUESS NOT...lol

one of his daughters.

I know what you mean
I had an amel for a while that was as orange as ..well..an orange but the genetics were known and it was an amel.
that's why I get a kick when anytime people see something slightly different the say hybrid

I have one ultramel
Don't really know why I kept him.
He doesn't have that bad of an attitude but I don't really have any use for him.
I will probably try to get rid of him one of these days.

I know this is not correct But I've seen a few amel black rats. It has some similarities in the look.

I would have called it a slightly overweight amel. It could have some Emory in it, due to it being heavy-bodied, but the problem with many creamsicles is that they're not a 50/50 genetic split in many cases - too many people are breeding amel corns to creams, causing the Emory influence to be dilluted to the point of a creamsicle looking like a "pure" corn.

He is a big healthy boy.
He is probably pushing five feet.
I don't know, to me he never did look pure corn. It may be just the way he looks in person.
thanks Tim
