Fresh shed and Fat Girl

waspinator421 Oct 01, 2007 04:34 PM

Well, Copper shed today and oh man she was glowing!!! She totally trashed her bin with poop, urates, and moving everyhting around, so the picture is her in an empty bin.

This other picture was taken a few weeks ago. Mauve is getting too big and fat for her water dish.... an upgrade will be needed very soon. I think she likes being all crammed in there though!

Haha it's such a pain when they shed and poop at the same time, I think they plan it to make the biggest mess possible so we have tons of work to do. I do love how they soak in the water dish even if they barely fit. I agree in thinking that they like it small though. I changed my CRB's water dish cause she could barley fit into her last one but now she hardly ever soaks in her new one

Yeah, I don't want to get her a new one just yet. I'll wait until she starts popping the lid off of this dish, which will probably be very soon. She sits in that dish almost all day long, so she must like it tight. When I do get her a new one, I hope she'll use it!

LOL, reminds me of my 2006 Will Bird from Tim Osborne. I've got him temporarily in a shoebox rack for quarantine. Yeah a bit small but works for now. I use the delicup waterbowls from superior. Similar to yours except it's, a 12 oz deli cup but has the same type hole cut in the lid. Anyways, this male will cram himself into the cup, barely fits, I have to make sure to only put a half inch or so of water in the bottom or he will spill the rest. Pretty funny to see him stuffed in there with just his nose poking out!!

LOL... it does seem silly when I only put just a bit of water in her dish..... until she gets in it! That tiny bit of water gets pushed all the way up to the top.

Thanks Jason! I am very impressed with her color as well. I can only hope that she carries that orange to adulthood.... and then to her babies!!
