Anyone have any breeding yet?

kazproductionz Oct 01, 2007 06:16 PM

Last night when I was cleaning I noticed that my radioactive female was wrapped around her water dish...so I palpated her and I think she mayyyy have some folicles...so I threw in a male with her and sure enough this morning they were locked up....I haven't even started cooling yet! She already went earlier this season so it's not like she is a late breeder...I guess I'm getting a jump start this year! Weeehoo...Anyone else notice this yet or is it just me? Pe@ce ya'll.

I have 2 pairs locking up already, and I haven't started cooling either. I think one of the females has follicles, too. She's my poss. het. Albino, so I really hope I get a clutch from her. I haven't had any luck palpating the other one (she's always waaay too grumpy, lol). I introduced them for the first time about 2 weeks ago and both pairs locked up right away. The females were just acting different, so I thought it was worth a shot...I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks,
Shelly

I placed a pair together last night, and they have been locked up since this morning.

Good Luck,

I don't cool or cycle my animals, they just follow the natural Wisconsin temp drops, pressure drops, and light changes. All my pairings went great last year, so I decided to stick with what works and go the same route this year -- my spider's been locking up with both his girls and I'm starting to feel little pearls. Seems like last season just ended! LOL!

This is my first year breeding but about 2 weeks ago both my normal male and female seemed really restless and weren't eating like usual, so I put them together and they locked up right away.

I didn't manually cool their temps but the sun is going down earlier and it's a bit colder at night. I gave my male a few days rest when they separated and of course he had to start shedding, so I'm still waiting for him to finish.

Good luck to you this season!

I started lowering the night time temps about three weeks ago and increasing the day temps just a bit. Some of my snakes were looking restless so I started putting my males in with females and to my surprise, everyone of them of them locked up. My five males just finished with their third round of females. That's fifteen lock ups so far. I spent the last year acquiring animals so I am very excited for my first year of actually breeding them!

Last year was my albino male's first breeding, and it took 2 months before he hooked up!! But this season is different. He stopped eating a month ago so I put him in with a 2-kilo virgin and he locked up immediately. Typical guy, he does it once and now he thinks he's a pro.
