weird behaviour?

So this is my first real attempt at breeding boas, I have fed both male and female 2 weeks ago and slowly started to reduce the time on there lights by 1 hour. I placed them together about 5 days ago once I thought they were both done digesting. For 5 days straight both have been in the watertub I use in the tank.

Is this cause for concern? neither is due for a shed and neither has defecated any more?

Could they both be cooling themselves down to produce sperm and eggs?

Do they have mites? Check for floating black pepper in the water.
