Alrighty, yesterday I changed the water in my sick geckos bowl to Pedialyte. This is a gecko I bought on the 16th of this month, and has tremors when it walks and won't eat (and was very skinny, although much fuller now on the few days of liquid diet).
Anyway, last night and this night I've found her both nights spending hours at a time just standing in her water bowl that has Pedialyte in it. I'm not sure if she did this when there was just water in it and nothing else, I just know she's doing it now.
She sometimes moves around in it and takes a single sip every few seconds. Which I'm guessing is good for her, but that Pedialyte is cold! After a long, long while she'll leave the water bowl. Yesterday she left it and ended up back in it an hour later.
Tonight, after she left it (it's 4:45 am here) I picked her up and held her for a bit and noticed she had what I think were hiccups. Drunk from the Pedialyte, eh girl? Is this normal?
And what could it mean if she's just standing in her water bowl like that, occassionaly lapping? Although she's up for small parts of the day other than feedings, she doesn't do that except for at night. And sometimes she'll have the two legs of one side in the bowl, and sometimes she'll have all four, and sometimes she'll only take her tail out. She seems to like it.
