Shy When Shedding?

WTBowles Oct 02, 2007 11:19 AM

I fed my new ball python who is about 100 grams the first time tuesday of last week. she went in her hide box after the meal were she has remained since. In a weeks time i have not seen her outside once, and i check at all hours. today i decided to remove her box just to check on her and she seems to be in the blue. so my question is, is this lack of movement common behavior for a snake about to shed?

Yes it is. Also that is common after they eat. Balls love the hide and they are not the most active snake. A few are more active than most but for the most part the remain in the hides. At night they are a little more active. Keep your humidity up so it sheds ok. Best of luck.
