adult iguana questions

I adopted a about 3-4 foot 3 year old iguana , froma friend of ours .

shes mean! lol
i use to have a iguana she was the totally different iguana
she was nice and friendly this ones got adittude
they told me she is a her and she had mbd 3 years ago
( she has about 12 inches of her tail gone) but is healthy
they also told me she was shy but when i went to meet her i new she was not the slightest shy at all

shes in a corner custom built cage
hs the right uvb and heating basking lamp
shes eatting
shes messy with her greens so i end of cleaning that in her cage
but
she stands on her hind legs her dulap is out and she hisses attack mode i guess you can call it ??
she just show she does not want me there at ALL and trys to bite

i really like her and i want to keep her anyone have suggestions on taming ? I want to give her a chance becuase i can feel we can get to be good friends
ive been reading on about taming and signs of iguanas
sence this is a corner tank
anyone have suggestions on taming ??? or how to start

im going to go get some nice heavy duty garder gloves
i want to work with her ...

thanks anything is helpful ? suggestions too

For starters, a 3-4 foot iguana needs a BIG enclosure, so unless the corner cage is 5x4x6, you got some home improvement to do.

Keep on reading the literature, we've all gone through that tough period. Just keep in mind not to rush things, not to over-do it with the handling, and remember to positive-reinforce good behavior (i.e. reward).

Let it get used to its new home and to ur presence, new iguanas are always stressed at first.
Skim through this forum and past pages for topics that can help you, we have people asking about taming all the time.
