WC Sonoran Gopher snake from West Texas

BlueKing Oct 02, 2007 03:27 PM

Thought I'd share a pic from one of my West Texas finds back in June.
Found this nice little (4 foot), male Sonoran in Presidio county, Texas back in June. The pic doesn't show it too well, but he has quite a bit of pink and yellow on him
BUT the best thing about him is: He may be a little squirmy, but has NEVER bit me or struck at me yet. No temper tantrums and loud hissing with this guy! Seems to be very calm for a Sonoran! Thanks for looking.

Awesome find! That's a sweet looking Sonoran! Great to also find one w/ a laid back temperment. Get him a female. Looks like he'd turn out some nice colored offspring.

Thanks.
I have found a few others in the past, including a 6'10" specimen (that was my 2nd largest snake ever caught in the US)!
But none looked as good as this one, nor were they as friendly as this one!

I like that some can have a very green tint to their heads as well. This little girl came from Brewster county, I think lots of snakes from there have a greenish tint to them. That is a great looking Sonoran, Zee!
