1st one shed and eat,....

MichelleRogers Oct 02, 2007 06:32 PM

This little male is the brightest orange I have ever seen and very reduced. He shed and ate a frozen thawed pink today. I can't get the color right but he is bright tangerine orange with very reduced black.

Very nice. Is anyone tracking this reduced thing. It seems to be increasingly common in some lines. Is it showing with any frequency that might suggest this is a mendelian trait? Are we seeing hypo thayeri?

Thanks Tony, I have seen it more in the applegates but that isn't saying it isn't as common else where. I think it may be a mendelian trait. as far as hypo I don't know, one male that hasn't shed yet looks extremely yellow and orange and lacks any black on the upper half.

Thank you Aubrey, yes he and Bellatrix would probaly set the thayeri world a blaze with orange offspring. She is very beautiful. I hate to let him go but I have made my self a promise I would only keep 1 this year and so far that is going to be the gray female.
