bristles (from a wire brush, don't know where he found that) and gravel (approximately ten small pebbles) in the intestine. He is doing just beautiful, and has passed some of the gravel- follow up radiograph showed less gravel, less wire. My question is- is there any food I could give him that may help that wire get out? He is eating/drinking normal, everything appears to be fine. I recommend everyone have an occasional xray of their tortoise done, just to see if there is anything in there that should not be. Fecal was negative, also. I have no idea where he got ahold of a wire brush at, but the gravel must have been in the soil that he loves to dig in- because I do not have any top surface gravel anywhere. I took pictures of his Xrays, but left them at work accidentally. I will bring them home and scan them in tomorrow.
