Isla Marajo Rainbow Boa

Jeff Clark Oct 02, 2007 10:48 PM

This is my largest female Isla Marajo Rainbow Boa, Epicrates cenchria barbouri. After a thread a couple weeks ago about maximum sizes of Rainbow Boas I measured some of my larger snakes. This female is right at 7 feet long. She ate a jumbo rat the other night and is still looking pretty fat with it. Without a big meal in her she usually weighs around 9.5 pounds.

reako45,
...I have forgotten what year I got her as a baby but it was around 2000 or 2001. I got her from Larry Kenton at Maryland Reptile Farm. I think he produced one litter of babies and then lost his breeders. I had a trio from the litter and lost the other female and so far cannot get the pair to reproduce.

Jeff that was me thanks for the post, the snake I referred to was darker in color like your girl I bet this is what the guy had at the ocean.

Small world I know Larry purchased my female JCP off him in 2000 and been to his older home and got a chance to see all of his animals.
