Feeding night pics...not too many du OK

rainbowsrus Oct 03, 2007 10:54 AM

Just a few pics from last night....

Found my girl Morticia had shed so snapped a few pics before I fed her. As usual.y to get pics with and without flash because each brings out different aspects. She's one of the striped hypo siblings. Not great color but may be hiding some special genes.

The I fed her sister in the next tub and the position was so cool, had to pull her out for pics...

And check her out showing of one of her racing stripes!!

Great pictures! Wow, Genevieve is really getting dark.... could it possibly be a different type of Hypo? She still looks pretty awesome with that stripe!

Yeah, she has darkened up a fair amount. Is she a hypo, only time and breeding will tell. Still, that stripe is awesome and hoping I can produce more just like her!!!!

This fall I'm pairing Eve up with one of my hypo males. That will tell for certain if the lines are compatible. If not, still will have 100% het Lockwood line and possible het for (as of yet unproven) Colling hypo line.

nice pics and since you are getting busy you need a helper? I'll work for rodents and positions on next year's waiting at spot #2 after you oh yeah put me down cuz I might need to catch a couple but definately especially a red female or two or three lol but all for the hypo project outcrossing to get some hot hot hot hot hets and really really light colored snake and maybe an orange one and that would certainly be some more mouths to feed lol So next year I have to get one female of those or maybe a pair from you, Celia or Bryan and no more purchases for the hypo project have to start saving for an anery I'll stop babbling but I am getting very excited

Dave I don't know if Celia responded to you on the boa forum but she is expecting hypos and hets this year from her hypo male and het female and I need a het female but just don't have the money but Mickey and Savannah I hope your Fluffy gets randy this year with the ladies but if not then whats up but I'm crossing my fingers for you. You have so many projects going on Dave decisions decisions- must be fun
Bob

rainbowsrus Oct 03, 2007 09:18 PM

Yeah and I have to commit to a project and stick with it for the year. Fluffy is gonna get Savannah and Daisey this coming year. No matter what, Fluffy will be the only male with them.

Same type story with Mickey and Dumbo, the females they are with each of them will be with them only.

For my normals, if one male isn't doing the job then I can switch and no real big deal, it's the recessive genes I have to be careful to keep track of. Wouldn't want a litter of known hets turn out to be hit and miss or not hets at all!! Even more so for proving out Fluffy!!

About how many pairings for the bci's do you have going you think if about half of the females that are questionable make it for the breeding program?
Bob

rainbowsrus Oct 03, 2007 09:31 PM

Wellllll, this year I'll have 11 cages for actual breeding. Not sure if I'll be able to fill them all but looking like I just might. So most likely somewhere around 8 to 11 pairings.

Gonna catch some more boaphiles after you sell some babies this year? Next year you got quite a few brb pairings but are you gonna let them go in the females tub (iris cb)?
Bob

rainbowsrus Oct 03, 2007 10:07 PM

Actually planning on building a second room this winter in the garage. Already have some of the additional caging I will need but have no room for it in the house.

All breeding and gestation/birthing will be done in caging.
