jonnyblaze Oct 03, 2007 03:29 PM

hey,
i've been washing my phoenix worms off before i feed them to my beardie, but i was wondering if its safe to feed them to him with some of their bedding still on them??i've been wondering this for a really long time, even since i got my chameleon about a year ago..i've always washed them off to be safe, but if its ok to do otherwise,it'd save me some extra time..thanks

According to the company a little bedding is fine. I never washed mine just separated it as best as possible.

The bedding is organic material of some sort (probably finely ground hay or similar). I find just leaving the worms in a dish outside of their packaging for a few minutes allows the bedding to dry enough a gentle puff of breath blows it all off the worms anyway.

You can always just drop them onto a piece of paper towel and let the worms crawl around a bit, then pick them up after they had a chance to knock all the bedding off their own bodies.
