Imperial king/jungle corn

srsb Oct 04, 2007 07:09 AM

Hi-- Could someone "define" what an imperial king is for me?

I am looking for a pet snake (never to be bred) that looks like the striped imperial king on the Prehistoric Pets site, or the striped jungle corns (not albino) in the classifieds. (I don't know what the rules are for posting pics from other people's sites).

Basically I want a striped pattern with those rich brown and black colors with a lighter color thrown in.

Can anyone give me some insight on these snakes or other similar ones to consider?

Thanks in advance!
sonja

I'm not 100% sure but they might be calling the Imperial King that because it is 50% Cal King and 50% Pueblan. Or they could be 75% Pueblan and 25% Cal King and just decided to call them Imperial Kings. Have you asked them if they produced them or the bought them from somebody? If you're looking for snakes with that look I have quite a few. My email is cerebrum@socal.rr.com

I also have a question about imperials, but didnt want to start a new thread. I know they are cali kings x pueblans. what phases of calis work best? i heard bananas are mostly used, but what about a normal black and white striped or a high white striped cali? would those produce nice looking snakes as well?

thanks

Most likely they would produce something with the similar look.

Wow! So many of your snakes are so beautiful!

I haven't contacted Prehistoric Pets directly. They are all the way on the other side of the country from me, and I would LOVE to find someone close, so I could meet the snakes in person before buying. Although, after searching every local show this summer, it is looking like I will end up having to go the shipping route. One more show this month to check out first, though.

I have bookmarked your site!

Thanks,
sonja

Hey mesozoic, do you think you could post some pictures of the adults you bred to make imperials?

thanks
