Um What Just happened?

Okay bear with me please...

I've got a dragon, I believe its male and acquired another dragon I believe to be female.

Got the "male" setup in an enclosure 3x5 feet, today I introduced the "female" who is a little bigger.

The male who is just thinkin its another day perched on his branch, suddenly has this new dragon in his enclosure with him.

The female (the new dragon) attempts to mount male, and tries to bite his back off.

Now, I'm freakin out...

After the bite attempt they do a quick circle... and the male dashes back to his perch... Female chases and from what I saw bite him on the tail... Later I didnt see any wounds or nothing.

So, after watching my male dragon who I've had for a while running and scratching at his glass and doors of the tank I removed the female...

Did I over react???

Anyone???

You need to positively identify your sexes before I can really give an opinion.

2 females could act like this. I always introduce dragons on the floor where there is plenty of room for one to get away. Also dragons that have lived alone their whole life are very difficult to aclimate to shared quarters.

Also how big (length/weight) are the dragons and how old? Maybe the male is not mature yet.

You really need to be sure of the sex and have a plan before you put 2 dragons in one enclosure. In general I can't really recommend it to a novice. There are a lot of risks.

It also sounds like you didn't quarantine the new animal.

Normal behavior would be that the males beard gets black and he bobs his head vigorously and the female should bow or arm wave.
