Who's ready for fresh shed baby pics?

rainbowsrus Oct 04, 2007 05:42 PM

Not all but many of two litters (Betty and Bullseye) have now shed allowing me to see and get pics of them sporting their shiny new colors. Phew, this is a lot of work to take and process all these pics but should be worth it in the end........

Pics in following posts

oh, no BE-FR-13 FEMALE poor thing. I don't have the knowledge to tell if the red and white is better or worse than the black, which is it? (I can't tell if this is it healing or being infected and inflamed)

LOL, had to go back and look at pics, the red and white is an optical illusion. The set of pics were all taken at the same time. Her eye seems a bit smaller, not infected that I can tell. Not bothering her that I can tell. She shed fine, will have to wait and see how she does. One reality of breeding, the more babies you produce, the more likely you are to come accross the occasional birth defect.

LOL, have not yet decided but one of those three (1,2 or 3) are gonna be a holdback. Need to look them over carefully and decide! Also planning on holding back at least one Wilma baby (1.0 maybe 1.1) and one of Savannah's girls as well. Oh yeah, and I don't know if I could part with the twins either. One hard part of breeding, letting them go!!

I thought he wasn't keeping any eitherlol Dave is very quickly closing in on 300 snakes and after the first litter of Eve's babies and his first litter of all her offspring, his hypo holdbacks, anery holdbacks, female hypo het holdbacks, female het anery holdbacks,...... Dave will have too many snakes by then but taking care of that many BRB's is too much work for me, sounds like a full-time joblol Dave

All are great looking babies. It's a shame that BE-FR-13 FEMALEs eye didn't clear up. Is she still doing well with it that way?

Hey, some of us have to eat and sleep.

To change the subject, did you get any response on the boa
forum about your slug theory? I was hoping to see some more
replies.

Oh, great looking litters, btw! I couln't decide which ones
were the best, they were ALL nice. And that Hook guy was awesome.

LOL, I've always been somewhat of a night owl, typically only sleeping a few hours a night, quite often I'm up cleaning and taking pics while the rest of the family is asleep.

Nah, that's not the rainbow forum, adn I'm not a big fish over there so don't rate many responses!

Thanks on the litters, It's gonna be hard for the wait list folks, so many good choices and each litter unrelated to the next (except Fred being the father of two). Hook was one of my favorite example stories. He was NOT originally a holdback, I had several others that looked better than him at first shed. After a while and a few sheds (as I remember, he did not have a good pic in the for sale ads) he just kept sticking out more and more until I moved him from available to holdback. He's now one of my top two male holdbacks from 2005.

Great story with Hook, sounds similar to the story about your
"dud" female that ended up producing those big litters. You should pair them up, the babies would be late bloomers for sure!

That's part of the fun with this hobby, there's always a great story to be told, each individual animal is so unique and comes with it's own story. Admittedly, some are not as spectacular (animal and/or story) but still all are worth keeping/telling!!

Late bloomers, would probably take 200 days POS for them to deliver and then they would look plain jane until 6 months old. Then watch out, would blossom into stunners!!!
