House cleaning in Texas....

Joe Forks Oct 05, 2007 09:12 AM

Let's start the list of those that need to be relieved of duty in Texas. I'll start the list then we can discuss ways to get them gone (legally - election wise, or appointment wise).

Hilderbran - crooked SOB - immoral, unethical, self serving - in TPW pocket - you could say he is TPW's little (female dog).

Kercheval - Liar. Lies to your face and says he doesn't lie. He's Hilderbran's little (female dog).

Sinclair - Old guard, stagnant, needs motivation. There are younger, smarter folks that need to be in his position. It's not enough to protect and preserve, he needs to MANAGE too.

Flores - Not sure about this one. From what I do know he skews data to suit his needs and presents it to bias lawmakers (Hilderbeast).

These four folks are the epitome of unethical, immoral, and self serving imbeciles.

Yes. We know from our Freedom of Info Act requests we gave some of them pretty good headaches when we were really giving it to them. Lets keep doing that. How much scrutiny can they take before they see it's just not worth it. I say we watch their every move, not just on herp issues but hit them any way we can.

Ditto, their are more legislators on the way up with good agendas, let's support them and take away confidence from the "old guard". Change is good!

Yesterday I mentioned the video and the musical chairs voting to my wife. Before I could finish, she asked, "Were they turning in their chairs and voting for other people?" I was amazed that she knew what I was about to describe.

She said that a number of years ago when Mississippi school teachers went on strike, she was in the balcony of the state legislature and witnissed it first hand. She said people were running around everywhere as they pushed other lawmaker's voting buttons. She was horrified.

One thing we need to consider is, as incredibly wrong as this practice is, we might not want to make a big deal about it yet. We risk alienating the entire legislative body. The next time our cause comes up for a vote, lawmakers who were on our side and would have voted for us, won't. They'll see the bill and say, "Hold it. These are those crazy snake people who got me fined!"

As much as it pains me to my very core to overlook such a practice, it might be the thing to do until after we get our needs met. Then form a non-herp related citizen's group to go after the practice. The very thought of condoning this illegal, third world-like, un-American activity is making me sick to my stomach. But if we piss off the powers that be, we'll be shooting our own selves in the foot.

Cheers,

I agree that now might not be the time to go after them about the extra voting. Some time however we should shoot them in the hand like they shot us in the hand and only let them take pictures and observe the buttons that they so loved! That video was a discrace to all of us.

I can see the point of holding off on doing anything with the proof of legislative voter fraud, but it makes me nauseous to think of it. That video was the most vile, disgusting, openly blatant example of political corruption I've ever seen and now with Terry saying it occurs in Mississippi too, it really makes me wonder about other states (including my own, Arizona). A grass roots email campaign using that video could cause some serious damage to the Texas reps who are doing it. I wonder if the news team that broke the story would consider a follow-up to see who does it the most and whether there are some congresspeople that do not do it? And if Hilldenbrand could be caught doing it it would be nice.

Cheers all,
Henry W.

One thin idea...

I know it will not be happening at all until there is another legislative session, nothing to see right now. And they know that they were "busted", I have no doubt that the video has made its way around their circle already.

I say we find a way to watch for it next session and if it is still an issue make sure the individuals are brought to light. I hate giving any "free passes" on this kind of behavior but think in the longer run it may be easiest if not best.

is to make sure they all know the attention was brought on by Hilderbran and Kercheval and not a bunch of crazy snake hunters. Maybe they will ostracize the "dastardly duo".
