Snack poll

You know, this sounds like a complete newbie question and I am almost ashamed to ask - but what do you all do to add variety to a CGD based feeding regime? (If you do at all?)

We feed crickets on occasion and for "holiday" meals offer her favorite flavor of organic baby fruit from when she was a wee one and didn't always go for the CGD straight.

But she's never been interested in any of the feeder snacks our leo loves (like waxworms)... I'm guessing maybe there isn't a whole lot of worms in the tree tops as the reason. She's never really gone for sliced organic fruit either, but then it has been a while since we tried that.

Anyone do anything differently? And before someone reads this wrong, I'm talking snacks only, like dog treats, once a month kinda thing. We are VERY firm believers in CGD.

(Just curious really, was looking at pinkies today for our leo, felt kinda bad that she gets some new snack once a month and our little crestie is always eating the same thing.)

I don't really give anyone snacks, because their diets are so varied depending upon what I want to throw in their at night.

Squirt and Silva are getting Crickets, Roaches, CGD, CGD /w Mango, Banana(which they rarely eat), and Pear baby food. They like the pear a lot..it's weird, Squirt has eaten some wax worms, butterworms, fruitfl..come to think of it, Squirt will eat anything he comes into contact with, especially water droplets, but he's sexy, so we run with it.

So apparently, I didn't answer your question at all, Sleepy. Sorry!

Nah, you basically told me my gecko is weird and very picky about her bugs. Really wish I could get her to eat the same "treats" as our leo... Maybe Squirt could come over and convince her worms are yummy? (Unless that is your male, then no way, she's still laying virgin eggs, I can't remember if this is clutch 3 or 4 now... I do not want her encouraged in anyway, especially if he's the sexy one. She on the other hand wants me to sign her up for a dating service I think, Female Gold Chevron seeks weekend fling or something like that. )

To tell you the truth, I was having a bad day when I read your post and the whole attacking the water droplet thing... yeah, gotta keep the world safe from those evil falling water droplets, you never know when they will get together and try to take over the world. The flying, superman, full attack mode flop to catch the offending water as it is falling, even just thinking about it... hahaha... guess that's why I put up with such a poopy little gecko. Thanks for the laugh.

In my original post, I meant to type "their cage". I know my there /theirs. I swear.

And you know, the water thing is pretty funny. Later tonight, i'll take a video of a roach feeding, and you should be able to see Squirt's feeding zeal. If it moves, it's in his gullet.
