Accept for when very young doing all my research aquariums are not good for monitors. Most of the humidity leaves out the top. This is just what it seems to me I am also a new monitor owner but i have read like every post on here lol.

ah, the confusion of replying to posts by repeating info that you thought you read : )

there is no inherent problem with glass tanks, but rather screen lids. important to make that distinction, isn't it?

This is true I should of been more specific but also unless you feel like spending a lot of money most people wont have an awarium big enough and I phrased that wrong it was not only what I read I also know people that raise and own monitors.
I am not an expert but always willing to learn

Ah, you're alright, don't take it personally. Thick skin will serve you well around here.

Just consider it a technicality that Robyn was justified in clarifying.

Actually, we can do a play of words and say it all depends on how you look at what you wrote: > > > Most of the humidity leaves out the top.

That statement can be true since regardless of what kind of top it has, that's the only way for humidity to escape. It can't go out the glass sides or bottom, can it? Ha! Ha!

OK, I'm just playing around & not trying to ruffle anyone's feathers.

Ya'll have a good one!

Awesome BT enclosure.

Some food for thought:

I purchased a 120 gal tank for my juvenile Nile in January of this year- she outgrew it by July.

The cage and stand cost well over $1,000; and that dosnt include the cage furnishings.

Even so, within 7 months she had grown to beyond its size limitations.

Im now converting it into a large community tank for my picta geckos; but I dont think there are many (if ANY) non-custom glass aquariums that can house anything but a small monitor species for its lifetime.

As juvies, if setup properly, its likely the way to go- but as age accumulates, they need something bigger and better.
