bull snakes arew big but they arent rat snakes.

figures the black rat is the biggest rat, its native to vermont so i dont think it would be legal to own.

it is not official
It is just a proposal.
The bull snake is not a rat snake
the largest North American RAT snake is still the black rat until the name change becomes official across the board.
Which is very doubtfull to happen

You now live in the 21st century where everything changes fast. Here is a link to help you keep up. Yes I know it is confusing but we will not be able to keep up with our kids if these things don,t get ironed out on the forums LOL

i hate how things get changed around so much. and the worst thing is that its all done by looks.

if i had it my way there would be far less species, i would base it on continent, birthing method, boid, venomous or colubrid.

example: corn snakes, bull snakes, cal kings, etc would just be sub species of "N. american egg laying colubrid"

scrub, woma and carpet python would be under "austrailian egg laying boid"

bcc and anaconda would be "S. american live bearing boid"

would be much more simple

Burbrink & Lawson have done some great work, but I would not bet on their winning this one.

A Black Rat is the record holder, but Grays, Yellows, Everglades and Texas Rats get to be about the same size. Get a male and feed it well, and it will bet big. Maybe it will not set a record, but it will get big.

goregrind Oct 12, 2007 05:18 PM

im not looking for a record breaker, just a big american colubrid

buti dont want an indigo becuase of the permit stuff
