Cochiti and Hobbs came from the same clutch and Hondo from the one after, but all 3 have the same parents. Hondo was in the only good egg in his clutch. He hatched about 10 days ago with some pretty severe facial deformities.
As soon as Eve heard about little Hondo, she offered to take him along with the others. That is the kind of moderator we have here on the collared forum, folks. Eve knew that I have had some things happen here that may prevent me from devoting the time he might require to raise, plus she knew I didn't really have room to keep him, anyway.
Hondo managed to hold his weight during the week he spent here and drank water from a syringe several times a day. Then, the morning I was getting them ready to ship to Eve, he ate 2 tiny crickets! WOOT for Hondo!! I think with Eve for his mommy, Hondo has an excellent chance of having a happy life.
Many thanks to you, Eve. You have a heart of gold. I'll look forward to photos of Hondo, Cochiti and Hobbs as they grow up.
Hondo, the very special hatchling
