? on some Hog Island Issues

CaritoBito Oct 07, 2007 09:07 AM

Hello all. New here. Well after many years without any snakes I got me another one. Got a baby Hog Island from Boas and Balls.com who was born I beleive in late June. I have a link with photos. Right now I keep her in a 20L with a hide, limb, basking spot, water bowl, and heated pad under one side, ground cypress as the substrate. Basking spot is at about 90. Warm side at 86 and cool side of tank is 80-82.

Here are my issues. When I take her out she starts to make popping noises. I guess the closet analagy would be like if you slightly popped one of your knuckles. Sometimes she will crack her mouth open on one side. Sometimes she opens it about half way and then will make a wheeze noise (like breathing with a partly clogged nose) but not always becuase the rest of the time she acts normal. Her eyes are clear, shes active when I take her out, great skin, and no mucus or anything that would look like a respitory issue. She's been like this since I got her. Here is the history.

Purchased 08/20/07
1st Feeding 09/07/07 Pinky
2nd Feeding 09/13/07 Fuzzy
1st Shed 09/29/07

Soooo, she has not eaten after multiple attemps and methods since 09/13/07 and she still makes the slight wheeze and pop noise after a few minutes of her being out.

Any ideas??? Should I be concerened that something that should from my past experience desire to eat at this early stage hasn't in almost a month? Should I take her to a vet about the pop/wheeze even though there are no other signs (mucus, bubbles etc)?

Here are some photos

Thanks,
Carito

If you have a Qualified Vet,then a visit is in order,if no Vet is avalible then there are options. If you can get a fecal sample,it would be a good thing to take with you.

Thanks for the help. Yeah I think Im going to try and get her in tomorrow. I've had rainbows, redtails, balls, and corns and never had one that make noises and or didnt eat once a week. Including the balls.

Just wondering...Did anyone look at the link of the photos of her? What did you think?

I tried the pics but the expanded pics were fuzzed out pretty bad ?
Most people use photobucket for its many user friendly options and reliability. Might wanna give it a try ?
