Inverted belly

KangasKritters Oct 07, 2007 10:37 AM

I recently acquired a 2500 gram normal female and noticed yesterday that she had her mid section and lower body upside down, exposing her belly. She was curled in a ball while doing this. Her top 1/3 of her body including her head were in normal posture and she is soaking in her water dish this morning (or at least trying to fit her big body in it). First year working with balls, but I'm guessing this is breeding behavior???

It could also be your snake is about shed. My snakes sometime do that when they are about to shed

My one big girl lays like that all the time. She is just trying to be comfy.

Chances are she's just tryin to get comfy. Both of my males lay like that, sometimes with their entire body sideways, so that they actually look pretty dead. First time I saw them doing that I just about had a heart attack.
