Is that shredded newspaper?
DeMak
I also am curious about the bedding in the Pic. Is it shredded paper as in the stuff that comes out of a paper shredder and if so how do you find it works?
Bruce
I see a lot of color in there. I heard that the dyes in the color is harmful. It was a long time ago that I heard this so, have they changed it to where it is not harmful anymore?
MissHisssss
i have also heard some things about shredding paper with dyes in them. i bought this cheap shredder just to see how it would work out. i work as a draftsman/designer and there is always alot of scrap paper here. scrap white paper no inks. well when i got the shredder home i shredded some of my junk mail to see how it works. so thats what you see. i will be using scrap non ink paper from my office in the future. the other avenue i have heard is that you can get the leftover newpaper rolls from your local paper. they just throw them away or donate them to rescue shelters or something for tablecloths? so far the paper bedding with pine mixed in have worked well. later, chris

I notice that your old tubs were opaque and that the new ones are solid colour. Was this a choice of econmics or do you think it is better for some other reason like privacy?
Thanks
Bruce
the old tubs were sterilites. they had the ridges and corners on the inside of the tubs and rats would chew holes in them. mice in these tubs were fine, but i wanted to start breeding rats. i looked at buying clear tubs but they were much more expensive. these tubs that are in the new rack are from dresslersdog.com they are cat litter pans and are very affordable. plus there are not sharp edges on the inside for the rodents to chew on.
thanks chris
