I found an ebt upside down and bleeding n the road today.i got her, she is n a rubbermaid tote with a light,I briefly soaked her to clean her up.Any more suggestions? She was bloody at the hinge and has several pink scrapes on her plastron.She is alert and moving.

You could always take her to a Vet. for an exam. Many Vets. will do minor things for free or at a discount if you explain that this is a wild animal.

If this is just minor damage (which is seems to be from your description), you may want to scrub her with a disinfectant and let her go. She will need to find a place to hibernate soon. Box turtles are amazingly resilient.

Your local vet may also be able to refer you to a qualified rehabber.

Once I cleaned her up completely and she seemed content- I looked her over more carefully.Her plastron is cracked.SHe is headed to the reptile vet.Will keep everyone posted.
