UTH heat better than heat whole room?

Twosnakes Oct 07, 2007 07:20 PM

Hi
Recently moved to Miami from the North. I have my Mexicans (2 only)in 40 gallon long tanks .
I currently just close the snake room door and change temps by closing, opening central ac vents or window shades.
I have had day temp of roughly 80 to 82 and night temps mid 70s.

Not sure if best just to drop temp to constant 72 and use Cobra UTH on one side of tank.
They have eaten very well and seem "happy" . Its hard to tell what they prefer anyone have any suggestions ?

Up North I just used the UTH cobras in winter as temps were 60/70 but here have the option.

Any thoughts ?

thank you

Suprised your able to breed them. I have never bred snakes but thought these particular snakes needed to sleep few months during winter .

What temps do you like for day and for night ?
I will say this maybe its the fact that room is bright during day (indirect sun) and dark at night like outdoors but they have never eaten so much .

Thanks
