I have been doing a ton of research, but some things are not too clear. Let me explain and maybe you can all help as you seem quite knowledgable.
I am a cham owner. I have a pair of Jacksons in seperate cages. These are high humidity chams prefering 70 degree average temps.
I run a rainmaker JR to keep the humidity up and use some 80mm fans to cool them down occasionally. (I can help you all find ULTRA quite fans!..Im a computer mod guy and can show you all how to build a baybus or rheobus (you can change the airflow/speed of fan by twisting a knob) that works off a timer that you can attach 4 to 8 fans to using one outlet..or one very cheap PC power supply.)
Anyhow - I want to get some pdfs.
I bought 6 18qt tupperware containers to house them in for a quar period. Make sure each is eating and healthy etc...
I purchased some eco-peat..expandable peatmoss...to throw on the bottom of each tub. I was planning to get it wet. wring it out and let it dry on the bottom - about 1/2 inch worth. Would this work as a temp substrate?
now the big one...I cant have a huge cage - although I want to build a nice one.
I found a really great one at my local shop. all glass. looks to be a 15 or 20 tall. same surface as a 10, but as high as a 29...
it has a screen top and a screen section on the side with a removable screen section. So good venalation. and with a rainmaker mist nozzle I can get it pretty humid while keeping good airflow.
Can you suggest a frog that would be good? Im leaning toward the tincs. One that will not only use the bottom of the viv, but the upper layers as well? I dont care if it is shy, just want it to look wonderful. Im actually just as into the plant species as I am into the frogs.
One that is hardy. One that breeds fairly well.
Id like to keep a group of three to 4. If three - then two males to one female. No mixing of species.
Anyhow - Ive read a ton, but just want some advice. I dont want to move quickly - rahter correctly.
thanks a ton guys!
